Art is  the only serious thing in the world. And the artist is the only person who is never serious.

The bond of all companionship, whether in marriage or in fiendship, is conversation.

Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing worth knowing can be taught.

Examinations are of no value whatsoever. If a man is a gentleman, he knows quite enought, and if he is not a gentleman, whatever he knows is bad for him.

What is the good of friendship if one cannot say exactly what one means? Anybody can say charming things and try to please and flatter, but a true friend always says unpleasant things, and does not mind giving pain.
